Calcutta University offers some of the best education possible in the country. It consistently maintains an admirable ranking among the top universities in India.  Your CV can get a big boost if you opt for the University of Calcutta. There are other institutes in Kolkata that are just as good as CU such as Presidency University, Jadavpur University St. Xavier’s College (Autonomous). Keep an eye on them as well and do not restrict yourself only to CU.  Engage yourselves in the various activities that will take place wherever you end up getting admission.  The more proactive you are, the more your resume will attract potential employers. Vidyasagar University has more expertise in tribal culture and literature. It is not the focus of urban academics. Keep in mind that the marking scheme of the University of Calcutta is very rigid.

Like everything in the world, distance education also has both advantages and disadvantages of its own. Let me discuss some of them I found out while doing some research online. Advantages Except for the exam time schedule, you can make your own routine for preparing your topics for the exams. Another advantage of distance education is that you will not be distracted by the hubbub that usually happens in a classroom.  You will also not be burdened by the necessity to participate in the events. If you are employed, then you can work as well as pursue your course. Disadvantages A glaring drawback of distance education is that you will not be able to interact with your peers, seniors, faculty, etc.  You might not be able to hone your skills in communication, writing, and interaction.  You can, however, engage in conversations with your peers during the weekend classes or joint study sessions. Some government institutions, unfortunately, do not employ students who complete their courses through distance education. This prejudice against students who complete their course through distance learning can be seen a lot, but some also provide opportunities to them based on their capabilities.

MAKAUT colleges are better for MBA, compared to Vidyasagar University. In West Bengal, MAKAUT brand name is more recognized. It offers better placement opportunities for MBA as well. Infosys, TCS, Accenture, Cognizant, etc. visit MAKAUT placements frequently. The highest CTC received by the students is around INR 19 LPA. MAKAUT has many tie-ups with companies, so it's easier to get placements, and internships.
