Kalyani University PhD Admission 2023 is going to begin soon. Selections of students for admission to PhD programs is based on Kalyani University Research Eligibility Test (KURET) followed by interview with the respective Departmental Research Committee. Candidates who have qualified UGC NET or SET or SLET are exempted from taking the entrance test for Ph.D programs.
Kalyani University offers Ph.D in 23 disciplines. The minimum eligibility required for admission to PhD programs is a postgraduate degree in a relevant discipline. Selection of the candidate to the above mentioned courses is done on the basis of Kalyani University Research Eligibility Test (KURET) and interview by the Departmental Research Committee.
Kalyani university conducts a Common Entrance Test for admission to PhD courses. This Entrance test will be conducted in the model of NET-UGC/CSIR, SET and such other examination.
The PhD will be held with OMR sheets based on 50 MCQ type question carrying 2 marks each. Selected candidates have to produce No Objection Certificate from their Employer during the time of Admission.
Applicants who meet any one of the following criteria are exempted from the KURET:
Candidate who has qualified in NET/SLET/SET/GATE/KURAT/KURET/EEARP or any other National or State level test for pursuing teaching or research.

The applicant, who was admitted through the admission test in M.Phil./M.Tech. course (other than five years integrated M.Tech. course) and has obtained M.Phil./M.Tech. Degree from this University or any other University/ Institute recognized by this University.

Whole time teacher of this University or any other University /Institute/ Government Aided college .

Overall, Kalyani University is a good university and I would suggest you go for it if you are thinking of taking admission to it.
According to the cutoff trends of the last few years, you will need to score above 130 out of 200 in WBJEE, in order to get into branches like IT, Electrical, Electronics at Jadavpur University. A score of around 105 should get you branches like Civil, Production, or Chemical Engineering at JU.
In order to get CSE at Kalyani University, your rank should be within 2000 and you will need a score above 92.

Finally, you should keep in mind that other mentioned universities may not be as old and experienced as CU, but they will show a bit of leniency while giving marks. So ultimately the decision is yours, whether you want to study in a reputed university with a strong and reliable alumni network or opt for the easier way out by getting admission to newer institutions.
