Overall, Kalyani University is a good university and I would suggest you go for it if you are thinking of taking admission to it.
According to the cutoff trends of the last few years, you will need to score above 130 out of 200 in WBJEE, in order to get into branches like IT, Electrical, Electronics at Jadavpur University. A score of around 105 should get you branches like Civil, Production, or Chemical Engineering at JU.
In order to get CSE at Kalyani University, your rank should be within 2000 and you will need a score above 92.

So ultimately the decision is yours, whether you want to study in a reputed university with a strong and reliable alumni network or opt for the easier way out by getting admission to newer institutions.
