Jigyasa University (Formerly Himgiri Zee University) into existence in 2003 with the motive of preparing trained human resources for the industry in several sectors like social, educational, scientific, technical, and professional organizations for social and economic development. Jigyasa University (formerly Himgiri Zee University), Dehradun has been established by the Essel Group under The Uttarakhand Private Universities (Amendment) Act, 2024 (Uttarakhand Act No. 05 , 2024), recognized by UGC Under Section 2(f) of 1956 Act and Member of Association of Indian Universities. Further, School of legal studies is approved by the Bar Council of India (BCI), School of Pharmaceutical Sciences is approved by the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) and B.Ed. Program is approved by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE).
Jigyasa University (formerly Himgiri Zee University) is the only university in Dehradun in collaboration with Rekhi Foundation and the only university to have Swimming Pool with separate timings for boys and girls.
