Indian Veterinary Research Institute (IVRI) is known for its advanced research and post-graduate programs. The undergraduate courses began from the academic year 2015-16 with the intake of 20 seats which is now increased to 24 seats. 21 out of 24 seats are filled by IVRI and the remaining 3 by the Veterinary Council of India (VCI). The course is open to all Indian Nationals.
IVRI offers 24 Master’s programs and 19 Doctoral programs in various disciplines. It has 5 other campuses in Mukteshwar, Bangalore, Pune, Kolkata, and Palampur. The UG courses are conducted only at the Izatnagar, Bareilly. The institute also offers fellowships to students who are admitted through entrance exams for MVSc/PhD degrees.
The fee charged is very reasonable for all the programs. The master’s program is for 2 years and the professional course is of the duration of 5.5 years. The faculty consists of ICAR scientists. IVRI has a placement cell and being the prestigious institute in the field of veterinary sciences the students get good offers easily.

IVRI Bareilly Scholarships
IVRI Bareilly offers scholarships to assist the students who need financial assistance. It is offered to the students who have a good academic record and are financially weak.
- The span of scholarship for M.V.Sc course will be of two years and Scholarship for PhD course will be of three years.
- Initially the scholarship will be accepted for one year.
- The sum of the scholarship for Master’s Degree curriculum is Rs. 7,560/- per month for 2 years with a contingent grant of Rs. 6,000/- per annum for two years and for Doctoral program, it is Rs. 13125/- per month for three years with a contingent grant of Rs. 10000/- per annum for three years.
- National Talent Scholarship by ICAR is available to students of UG at INR 2000/month and PG programs at INR 3000/month.
- Institute Fellowship is offered to the Postgraduate and Doctoral students.
- Post Graduate Students eligible for ICAR-PG and ICAR-JRF scholarship.
- ICAR-SRF to Doctoral students admitted through the ICAR exam.

Ques. What is the seat intake capacity for the B.V.Sc program at IVRI?
Ans. IVRI intakes 24 students for the B.V.Sc program. 21 seats are filled by IVRI and the remaining 3 by the Veterinary Council of India (VCI).
Ques. Is there a separate exam for admission to PhD?
Ans. 75% of seats for Doctoral Programmes are filled on the basis of all India Entrance Examination conducted by the Institute and the remaining 25% seats will be filled-up on the basis of AICE-SRF conducted by the Education Division, ICAR, New Delhi.
Ques. Can only the domicile of UP apply for the IVRI BVSc program?
Ans. IVRI BVSc program is open for all Indian Nationals who fit the eligibility criteria required for the course.

Ques.Is there any reservation criteria for admission at IVRI Bareilly?
Ans. Yes, 15% seats are reserved for scheduled caste, 7.5% seats for scheduled tribes, 27% seats for Other Backward category (OBC) and 3% for Physically Challenged (PH) applicants. 3% (2 seats) will be reserved for physically challenged aspirants as per their value on a horizontal basis. The reservation is applicable only in case of aspirants admitted under open category and not under sponsored category.
