Tamil Nadu Teachers Education University (TNTEU) is a State University, located in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. The University was established in the year 2008. It offers UG, PG, and Doctoral level programs in Education. Every year, TNTEU begins the application process for B.Ed., M.Ed. and Ph.D. programs in the first week of August. The application procedure is carried out through offline mode. Admission to all the courses is done on the basis of marks obtained in the previous qualifying examination. For Ph.D. & M.Ed. admission will be done through the entrance exam, conducted by the University itself.

Admission to the B.Ed program is merit-based.

M.Ed program admissions are done on the basis of entrance exam cut off conducted by the university.
M.Phil program admissions are merit-based.
Full-time Ph.D. program admission required entrance exam scores, whereas, part-time Ph.D. program admission requires merits of the previous qualified examination.

The University offers one-year B.Ed. program in various specializations. Candidates seeking admission to B.Ed. the program must have completed graduation in relevant subject with 50% marks from the recognized university. Seats will be allotted on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying examination.

The University offers two years M.Ed. program in multiple specializations. The candidates must have completed B.Ed. in the relevant specialization are eligible to apply for M.Ed. program. Selection will be based on scores obtained in the entrance exam conducted by the University.

Candidates can fill the application form online through the official website.

Take the print out copy of your online application submitted. Sent the print out a copy along with required documents and send them to University address, “The Registrar, Tamil Nadu Teachers Education University, Gangaiamman Koil Street, Karapakkam, Chennai – 600 097” with superscription on the top of the envelope as “Application for Admission to M.Ed Program: 2021-22”.

The duration of the course is 4 years and the intake capacity of each course is 100.
The university reserves seats for different categories of students.
Open category students are given 50% seats, BC/ BCM are given 45% seats, MBC/ DNC are given 43% seats, and SC/ ST/ SCA are given 40% seats.

TNTEU M.Phil., Ph.D. Admission 2023

TNTEU provides part-time and full time various doctoral-level programs. The full-time M.Phil. program is for 1-year duration, while the part-time course is for 2 years. The course duration of a Ph.D. program is 3 years. The minimum eligibility for all doctoral programs is a candidate must have completed post-graduation in education. Seats will be allotted on the basis of marks obtained in the entrance exam and performance in the interview conducted by the University.

Ph.D. (full-time)	-	A degree in masters of education (M.Ed.) must be acquired with a minimum of 50% marks. Also, candidates with an MA degree in a relevant subject with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks will also be eligible to apply.
