JKLU has a very distinctive scholarship program to encourage students. The applicant may qualify for a scholarship up to a full waiver of the University Academic Fees. The scholarship is awarded based on:

Scholarships for B.Tech/ BBA/ BCA

To encourage and support meritorious applicants, JKLU has a very distinctive scholarship program. The applicant may qualify for a scholarship up to a full waiver of the University Academic. The scholarship is awarded based on Academic Performance in Class XII marks (Only for those who have passed class XII in 2023/2024)

For the assessment of scholarships based on 10+2 class marks, the scoring is outlined as follows:

  • For B. Tech, specified subjects are include Physics, Maths, Chemistry, and English.
  • For BCA, specified subjects are English, one Maths/Physics/Economics/Accountancy/Computer Science/Informatics, and two subjects of the applicant’s choice. Subjects with internal marks of 50% or higher will not be considered.
  • For BBA, specified subjects are English and three subjects of the applicant’s choice. Subjects with internal marks of 50% or higher will not be included in the evaluation.

For awarding scholarships based on CUET performance, the score will be computed as follows:

  • For BTech, the three subjects include English, Maths, and one domain-specific subject.
  • In the case of BBA and BCA, the 3 subjects comprise English and two domain-specific subjects of choice. However, the determination of whether a subject is considered domain-specific for a particular course will be done by a committee.

Scholarships for B.Des

For the B.Des, the scholarship will be determined based on three components, and the cumulative total will not exceed 75 %. Details are as follows:

For the allocation of the scholarships based on 10+2 marks, the scoring process is detailed below:

  • The Specified subjects for getting the scholarship includes English and three subjects chosen by the applicant. However, a subject with internal marks of 50 % or higher will not be considered.
  • If the applicant does not qualify for the scholarship through JKDET but achieved a score or rank surpassing a predetermined cutoff in the entrance test of NID/NIFT/IITs, a scholarship of 25 % of the academic fee will be granted. The specific cutoffs are yet to be determined. 

Note: Only 1 scholarship will be applicable, depending on the entrance exam performance, whether it is JKDET/NID/NIFT/IITs. 

Additional Scholarship

JKLU offers a fee reduction initiative for certain student categories, capped at a maximum of 100%. Also, a 25% reduction in academic fees is applied to the following individuals:

  • Children of a staff member of JKLU or any entity associated with JKO.
  • Sibling of a student (both are eligible for a fee reduction).
  • Sibling of an alumna/alumnus.
  • An alumnus pursuing a second degree.

Exceptional Performance in Extracurricular and Co-curricular Activities

  • Candidates who demonstrates outstanding performance in sports (such as representing the state in national-level sports), Olympiads (reaching the Training Camp level), or any other area, a special committee will assess the application and recommend additional scholarships.

Women Scholarships

  • All women students will receive a scholarship equivalent to 10% of the academic fee if they are ineligible for any above mentioned scholarships.
  • This scholarship is granted annually, subject to the conditions outlined in the rules for continuation.

Special Category Scholarships

Students falling into the following categories are eligible for a scholarship equivalent to 10% of the academic fee in the first year if they do not qualify for any above mentioned scholarships. This is applicable only for the initial year of studies:

  • Children of defense personnel.
  • SC/ST students.
  • Differently-abled students.
  • Students from North-eastern states (domicile based on the school's address in the 10+2, and for open school, the address of the exam center in the 10+2).
  • Students from all Union Territories (except Delhi), with domicile determined by the same rule as above.
  • Students from JKO schools.

Early Bird Scholarships

JKLU offers Early Bird Scholarships, in addition to the existing scholarships, including women's scholarships and special category scholarships (subject to a maximum of 100 percent). Details are provided below:

  • In Round 1, an extra 15% scholarship will be granted.
  • In Round 2, an additional 10% scholarship will be provided.
  • In Round 3, an extra 5% scholarship will be awarded.

Note: All scholarships are expressed as a % of Academic Fees exclusively and No scholarship covers the Technology Fee, Hostel, Transport, and Mess charges.

Scholarship Continuation for 2024 Admissions: (for 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Years of BTech/BDes/BBA/BCA)

The scholarship will be sustained for the subsequent year based on performance in the program at JKLU.

Note(s):

  1. If there is no student eligible for 100% scholarship as per the criteria, then the student with highest CGPA will get 100% scholarship.
  2. If there are only 0 or 1 student with CGPA>= 9.0, then the student with 2nd highest CGPA will get 75% scholarship.

A 25% scholarship for the dependents of JKO employees and siblings of students/alumni (including alumni pursuing a second degree) will persist as long as they maintain a CGPA of 6.0. This scholarship will be in addition to the merit scholarship mentioned earlier, subject to a maximum of 100%. Also, the 10% women's scholarship will be given to all eligible women who do not receive any other scholarship, provided they maintain a minimum CGPA of 6.0.
