Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) is a two-year programme that equips students with the quality to become good secondary school teachers. Utkal University B.Ed Course Details

The B.Ed program of Utkal University is divided into 2 years covering two consecutive academic sessions. The course includes Perspectives in Education, Curriculum and Pedagogic Studies, Optional Courses for Skill Development. The course also includes Engagement with the Field which consists of Tasks and Assignment, School Internship, Community Activities and Courses on Enhancing Professional Capacities.

The first year course work contains 34 credits and 850 marks in total combining external (480) and internal (370).
The first-year students go through a school internship part 1 of 8 weeks.
In the first-year students also get to choose one optional course for skill development.
The second year course work contains 34 credits and total marks of 850 consisting of 440 external marks and 410 internal marks
The second-year students go through school internship part 2 of 12 weeks and community activities.

You have to contact the respective department. One of my friends who was preparing for the MFC exam got all the questions from the office of the Department of Commerce. I have a few friends from Utkal University, who used to stay in hostels. According to them, you can go out of hostels. You need to be back before the notified time in the evening. If you need to stay out beyond the curfew time, you will have to get permission from the superintendent or the deputy superintendent. If you need to stay out of the hostel for more than one day you will have to apply through proper channel. In case of departmental occasions like freshers’ party or annual day, you can stay out late. An application forwarded by the departmental head will be enough.
