Pune University MCM admission 2024 will begin soon. Application forms for admission will be released online on the official website @unipune.ac.in. Admissions to the program are based on the SPPU OEE (Online Entrance Examination). The entrance exam is expected to be held in June 2024.
Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) offers a full-time two-year postgraduate course of Masters in Computer Management (MCM). The course focuses on imparting skills necessary for developing a career in the field of business applications of computers for an emerging global scenario which emphasizes e-business in all sectors of the economy.
- The maximum admitted students are 60 in each year.
- The course consists of four semesters in which the first two semesters of the programme is a mix of computer-related and general business courses.
- Graduates in any stream can take up admission in MCM course.

Pune University MCM Eligibility Criteria
The candidates should fulfill the following eligibility criteria:
- The candidates should have a graduation or post graduation degree that can be in any relevant subjects with the minimum mark scored between 45 percent to 50 percent from any recognised University.
Pune University MCM Admission Guidelines
Admission to the MCM program is offered on the basis of the Online Entrance Exam (OEE) conducted by Pune University. The final selection of candidates is based on the merit list released by the university on the basis of scores obtained in the entrance exam.
Pune University MCM Application Process
- Visit the college’s official website, then move on to the admission tab, choose the course and the desired department, and then move to the login page.
- Click on the new application, then need to fill in the required details and upload your recent photograph and the necessary document.
- Then you will redirect to the payment pathway, pay the fees via challan, then get the application and copy of the university challan printed.
- The necessary documents that candidates keep during the admission process are all the mark cards, caste certificate, your degree certificate, your national/state level sports certificate (if any).

For engineering, the grace mark policies at Savitribai Phule Pune University are as follows.
- Every student will get 10 marks grace if there is only one subject backlog. For 50-50 pattern, the mark deviation will be 5-5. For 70-30 pattern, the mark deviation will be 7-3.
- If someone scored 37 marks or above in a subject, it will be cleared.
SPPU grace marks don’t exceed 1% of the aggregate marks of the examination.

- For non-professional courses, the required fees for transcript certificate is INR 115/-. While for professional courses, the required fee is INR 150/-. You need to pay the fee via a demand draft drawn in favor of The Registrar, University of Pune.
- If you want to receive your transcript certificate outside of India, you need to pay the International postal charges by Demand Draft.
Foreign or non-resident students need to pay the fees in Indian currency. The department usually sends the Transcript Certificate to the address given within 60 days via speed-post.
In SPPU, you can appear for backlog examinations 3 times for odd semesters and 2 times for even semesters. If you fail a subject in the first semester, you will have a chance to clear the backlog in 2nd semester, 3rd semester, and 4th semester. If you have a backlog from the 2nd semester, you will have a chance to clear the backlog in 3rd semester and 4th semester.
One of my friends recently graduated from Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU). According to her, it is better to do anything rather than joining this institute. She mentioned some of the reasons that made her feel this way.
- The institute only focuses on making money and not actual education.
- The syllabus and curriculum followed by the institute are outdated.
- Practical training is not properly given, making students lag behind the industry demands.
- Basic things like a proper academic calendar are not provided.
- Re-evaluation is time-consuming and usually not done properly.
- A 60% from SPPU is not considered good enough for admission to other colleges. They do not consider it as first class.
- They are known to have the worst and uncooperative staff members. They are not at all helpful or considerate about any problem.
It is suggested that you do not opt for SPPU as they are highly unprofessional. They do not have a proper way to conduct classes, assemblies, extracurricular activities and get involved in everything half-heartedly. SPPU is a good example of how a university should be not.
Let me give you a simple formula to convert Percentage into GPA.
Convert Percentage to GPA:
- Calculating GPA from percentage is very simple.
- The US GPA is a 4 point scale.
- The Indian percentage is 100% which is nothing but 100 points.
- 25 points in percentage is equivalent to 1 point in the GPA System.
Percentage to GPA formula:
- Divide your percentage by 100 and multiply by 4.
- If your percentage is 74, then (74/100)*4 = 2.96

In my opinion, however, Pune University has a much higher preference rate than Mumbai university. This is because of the following factors:
- Pune University has a better and well-structured curriculum in comparison to Mumbai University, especially in Engineering.
- The academic rules are more strict at Pune University and the number of backlogs allowed is also less than at Mumbai University thus maintaining the quality of Education.
- The exams are conducted consequently and little time is given for preparation. This makes it more challenging for the students and prepares them well for the future.
If you genuinely want to understand concepts and create amazing memories along with a lot of struggles, Pune University is for you. If you are looking for a laid-back campus life and a calm learning environment, then Mumbai University is best for you.
Calculating the percentage from your CGPA/SGPA is very simple.
As per the guidelines provided by SPPU(Pune University), you need to multiply your CGPA/SGPA by 8.8.
