Tumkur University was established in 2004 and is situated in the state of Karnataka. It is a state University which is accredited by NAAC with 'B' Grade. Tumkur University offers a number of courses at the UG, PG and doctorate level. The University has 24 postgraduate departments, 19 undergraduate departments, 2 constituent colleges, and 94 Affiliated Colleges.
It established 29 research centres to promote advanced multidisciplinary research and academic collaborations. Applications are released during the month of May for UG and doctorate courses, and the month of July for PG courses. Students can submit their application within three weeks after the notification.
The selection for the UG courses will be done on the basis of academic merit. The admission to PG courses will be based on the counselling process. For MBA and MCA, the admission will be given directly through KEA, Bengaluru. For all the Ph.D. courses, the candidates have to appear for the entrance examination and personal interview.
