Aspirants seeking admission to 2 year Full-time M.Sc Program should have passed three years B.Sc. Degree examination of Mangalore University or any other University considered as equivalent thereto with Physics as major / optional / special subject are eligible for the programme provided they have studied Mathematics as major/optional / special/minor / subsidiary subject for at least two years and secured a minimum of 45% (40% for SC/ST/Category–I candidates) marks in Physics and Mathematics.
Mangalore University offers good facilities and infrastructure for learning. It has one of the best libraries in Karnataka. It has a vast collection of books and magazines. Students are also given access to an e-library.
MU syllabus is outdated. The guest faculties aren’t good. Some of them lack basic knowledge of the subject. The permanent faculty base is better in comparison.
Although Mangalore University offers decent resources and facilities, in terms of academics it’s not a good option.
