Course Information

Eligibility Criteria

Aspirants seeking admission to the 2 Year Full-time M.Sc program should have passed three years Bachelor Degree examination of Mangalore University or any other University considered as equivalent thereto with Life Science subjects provided they have studied Chemistry/ Biochemistry as one of the major/ optional/ subsidiary subjects and have secured a minimum of 45% marks (40% in case of SC/ST/Category–I candidates) in aggregate excluding languages and group III subjects.

Admission Guidelines

You will be selected on the basis of an Entrance Examination for the following courses:

Master of Journalism and Mass Communication
Master of Social Work (M.S.W.)
M.Sc. in Computer Science, and Yogic Science
M.B.A.
M.B.A. (Tourism and Travel Management)
Master of International Business (M.I.B.)
Master of Human Resource Development (M.H.R.D.).
Master of Physical Education

For other courses: You will be selected on the basis of the fulfillment of eligibility criteria.

All the Entrance Tests will be conducted in the respective Departments.

The Entrance Examination and the selection of the candidates for M.C.A./M.B.A. Degree programme will be made by the Karnataka Examination Authority.

Your merit in Post Graduate Common Entrance Test–2020 for MBA and MCA Courses, will be determined on the basis of marks obtained by you in the Entrance Test. In the case of equal marks, the following procedure shall be adopted to serve as a tie-breaker:

First preference will be given to those who obtain higher marks in the Qualifying examination
Next, the preference will be given to the candidate who is older in age.

The MBA/MCA PGCET 2020 exam structure:

Number of questions: 100
Duration: 150 minutes
Type of Questions: Objective (Multiple Choice Questions)

1 mark will be awarded for each correct answer. There will be no negative marking.

How good is Mangalore University?

Mangalore University offers good facilities and infrastructure for learning. It has one of the best libraries in Karnataka. It has a vast collection of books and magazines. Students are also given access to an e-library.

MU syllabus is outdated. The guest faculties aren’t good. Some of them lack basic knowledge of the subject. The permanent faculty base is better in comparison.

Although Mangalore University offers decent resources and facilities, in terms of academics it’s not a good option.
