Candidates who have passed three years B.Sc. Degree examination of Mangalore University or any other University considered as equivalent thereto with Botany as optional/ major/ special subject with not less than 45% (40% for SC/ST/Category–I candidates) marks in the subject are eligible for the programme provided they have studied Chemistry/Biochemistry as optional/major/ minor/ subsidiary subject at the undergraduate level.
Mangalore University offers good facilities and infrastructure for learning. It has one of the best libraries in Karnataka. It has a vast collection of books and magazines. Students are also given access to an e-library.
MU syllabus is outdated. The guest faculties aren’t good. Some of them lack basic knowledge of the subject. The permanent faculty base is better in comparison.
Although Mangalore University offers decent resources and facilities, in terms of academics it’s not a good option.
