Karnatak University, Dharwad (KUD) traces its roots back to 1^st March, 1950. It is the second oldest university of the state. The university has been recognized as “Potential of Excellence” by University Grants Commission. It has its campuses at Haveri, Belgaum, Dharwad, Bijapur and Gadag. It has 249 colleges, affiliated under it. Under its 5 departments- Science, Arts, Commerce, Law and Education, Karnatak University (KUD), Dharwad provides 50 PG courses, 4 Advanced Diploma courses, 11 Certificate, 26 M.Phil and 42 Ph.D courses. Selection Process

The admission to the Ph.D programmes is based on the written test of 100 marks. All the questions will be MCQs type. The candidates who qualify the written test have to appear for the Personal Interview round. The candidates, who have qualified GATE, NET, SLET, JRF or are FIP/QIP fellows, need not appear for the written test.
