At present Ranchi University has 23 PG departments, 15 constituent colleges, and 49 affiliating colleges. Admission to all the courses is either merit-based or entrance-based.

Admission to the MBA program is via CAT/ MAT/ CMAT/ ATMA exam score.
M.Tech admissions are done based on GATE exam scores followed by CCMT counseling.
MBBS and BDS admissions require NEET-UG exam scores, whereas, admission to MD and MS is via the NEET-PG exam score.
B.Sc and M.Sc Nursing admissions are through merits obtained by the candidate in the previous qualifying examination.

Ranchi University MBBS, BDS, Nursing Admission 2023

Ranchi university offers four courses in the undergraduate category of the medical stream. For MBBS and BDS, the eligibility is a candidate must have passed class 12^th with Physics, Chemistry and Biology subjects being compulsory. The selection will be done through the NEET-UG score and after the state counseling session. For Basic B.Sc. Nursing, the candidate should have cleared his 12^th standard with PCBE subjects, obtaining 50% marks in aggregate and for Post Basic Nursing he/she should have passed IA/ ISC or ICom along with a diploma in general Nursing and midwifery. Ranchi University offers B.Tech. of 4 years duration with nine specializations. The minimum eligibility for B.Tech. is a pass in class 12^th with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects. M.Tech. the course is available at Cambridge Institute of Technology with 2 specializations – Civil Engineering (Structural) and Mechanical Engineering (CAD/CAM). MBA is a two-year full-time course offered by the Institute of Management Studies (IMS) with the availability of 240 seats. The fees of MBA course is INR 20,000 per year (general and OBC categories). For UG/PG courses

Download the application form, fill the relevant details, and sign the declaration.
The candidate has to submit the form to the University address along with the necessary documents.
For making the payment of the registration fee, the candidate has to get a crossed DD made of the relevant amount and submit it along with the filled-in application form and the necessary documents.

For MBA

The candidate wanting to take admission to MBA has to submit the Online Supplementary Application Form (OSAF), whose link is available on the official website.
The candidate can obtain OSAF copy and other documents directly from Ranchi University.
After making the submission of OSAF, the candidate will immediately receive a PDF copy of OSAF in their email which the candidate has to take a print out of, on an A4 paper along with the required documents.
The student can now make the application fee payment of INR 500 in the form of an A/C payee DD in favor of “Vocational A-1 MBA COURSE”, payable at RANCHI.

Attach the self-attested photocopies of the final year mark sheet (P.G. Course/ M.Phil. as applicable) as well as the other relevant documents.
Now, pay the registration fee in the form of demand draft (DD) of INR 1200 ( INR 600 for ST/SC Candidates of Jharkhand) drawn in favor of Registrar, Ranchi University, Ranchi payable at Ranchi which should be enclosed along with the application form.
Now submit the application form, DD, and the related documents in the office of Controller of Examinations, RU, Ranchi.

Candidate can visit the University department of Botany, Ranchi University, Ranchi, Basic Science Building, Morhabadi, and obtain the application form.
For obtaining the form, the candidate has to pay the application form fees.

The admission process is good, you can apply online here, according to Mark's you get admission here after that you have to go through the official process to submit which little bit tough. Overall this university is good because it gives chance to average students.

Very good for a backup degree

Remarks:

The Department is fairly good compared to other colleges or universities in Jharkhand but it can't be compared to the best universities. The infrastructure is very good but the faculty volume is very low. There are only 6-7 professors for a postgraduate program which is very low. There is almost no opportunity for research. If you are preparing for any competitive exams and want a Master's degree as a backup then this university is perfect for you. The syllabus is not hectic and one can easily manage while preparing for any competitive exams.

I have a friend who is pursuing her MBA from Ranchi University. She is not happy with the facilities offered at the institute. This university doesn't provide modern facilities and students don't get much exposure while studying in this university. The faculty of this college is not good. Often the syllabus remains unfinished. The management and the staff of this university are not cooperative. In this university, the results of a semester are sometimes declared so late that the classes of the next semester have already begun. The placement scenario of this university is also very poor as very few companies visit the campus for interviews and recruit only a few students whereas most of the students remain unplaced and have to look for job opportunities off-campus. In the recent placement drive, the highest CTC offered was 3 LPA.
