The Lala Lajpat Rai University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (LUVAS) was established in 2010 by the Haryana Government. LUVAS offers UG and PG Courses in the field of Veterinary and Animal Science. The University has been playing an important role in the development of the livestock sector as an instrument of rural development through its program curriculum.

To get admission in UG programs at LUVAS, candidates are required to hold a valid score in 10+2 level examination. Admission to B.V.Sc. & AH and DVLT will now be granted on the basis of the candidate's performance in NEET-UG conducted by NTA.

Admission to B.tech. (Dairy Technology) will be granted on the basis of an entrance exam conducted by the institute itself.

And for the PG admissions, they need to have a Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry degree from a university recognized by Veterinary Council of India (VCI). The selection process will consist of an Entrance Examination followed by Counselling.

The application forms will be available in the online mode only. Reservation is in accordance with the regulations of the Government of India.

At the research level, the institute offers a PhD under 16 disciplines, there’s no entrance exam required for the purpose of admission to the same.

Eligibility Criteria

For B.Tech. (DT), the candidate must have passed 12th Standard with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English subjects with 50% marks in them.

LUVAS B.Tech Selection Criteria

The selection of the eligible candidate will be done on the merit in the Entrance test obtained by the candidate followed by counselling process.

LUVAS M.V.Sc. Eligibility Criteria

Candidate having B.V.Sc. & A.H. degree from an institute/college recognized by VCI with minimum 60%marks or 6 OGPA are eligible to appear in the entrance examination.
Candidates must have completed an internship during the course of their undergraduate degree.
The minimum qualifying marks in the Entrance Test for the candidates is 50% (47.5% for the SC candidates).
Kashmiri migrants will be provided 10% relaxation in the minimum cut off marks.

LUVAS M.V.Sc Selection Criteria

The selection of M.V.Sc. program will be based on the entrance test (ET) conducted by the University.
The seats will be provided based on merit, weightage and seat availability.
Candidates will have to appear in the counseling.

Exam Pattern-

Medium of the test shall be English only.
All the questions will be of multiple choice types.
There will be no negative marking.

LUVAS Diploma Eligibility Criteria

For the VLDD course, minimum aggregate marks will be 60%.
The SC category candidates are allowed a relaxation up to 5%.
For the DVLT course, candidates must have secured at least 45% in 10+2 with medical subjects.
SC category candidates will be allowed a relaxation up to 5%.

The age requirements are a minimum of 17 years of age, and a maximum of 22 years of age (30 years for SC / ST /OBC Candidates). For in-service candidates, the upper age limit is 50 years.

LUVAS Ph.D. Eligibility Criteria

The Applicants for Ph.D. programs must hold a B.V.Sc & AH degree from a recognized college by Veterinary Council of India.
He/she should have a Master's degree and the results of that must be declared before the date of counseling.
In case the Master's degree transcript isn't issued, they will have to provide a certificate of their Postgraduate studies.
They must have obtained at least 65% aggregate marks in their M.V.Sc. course.
Those candidates, who don't hold a B.V.Sc. & A.H and M.V.Sc. degree aren't eligible.

LUVAS Ph.D. Selection Criteria

The institute doesn't ask for any entrance examination to get admission in Ph.D. programs.
The selection of Ph.D. programs will be based on merit.

The cut-off marks of any institute vary every year and you can not rely on the previous year data. It is calculated based on the number of students that appear for the exam. It varies for students from the general category or reserved one.

If you belong to the general category you might want to work a little harder to make it to the list of students eligible for admission.

In 2019, there were 34 seats for general category students, and the next year, it got reduced to just 26. As the exam carries 200 marks, so roughly we can estimate that the cut-off might be around 165 for the general category.

You can utilize the time in preparing precisely and solve some papers too. Revising the topics more and more will get you accustomed to the question pattern.

What is the expected cutoff of BVSC from LUVAS through the NEET 2021 with the state quota?

The cut-off in LUVAS varies every year depending on the number of students who appear for the exam.

Before 2020, there used to be a separate exam on the state level for getting into LUVAS but that is not the case now.
The only marks that matter is your NEET marks. Make sure to score well in it.
Roughly, based on 2019 and 2020, the cut-off marks may fall somewhere around 520. Hence, it will be better if you prepare thoroughly and stay on the safer side by scoring above 500.

It always gets a little challenging for the general category as the cut-off goes higher than for the reserved category. It is smart to plan your study on the same lines.

LUVAS Hisar cutoff for BVSc (Bachelor in Veterinary Science) and AH (Animal Husbandry) stays in the range of 500-550 for the general category students. This is a tentative score. Naturally, the required cutoff varies each year depending on the competition. But having a NEET score of around 550+ should fetch you a seat at LUVAS Hisar.

What exam do I have to give to be eligible for admission in LUVAS Hisar in a BVSc course in the 85 reserved state quota?

Since last year, i.e 2020, LUVAS Hisar has not conducted any separate exam for admission in BVSc course. You just have to appear for the NEET exam and be sure to crack it well.

They decide the cut-off based on your NEET marks and the number of students who appear for the exam that apply in LUVAS. All the admission seats- be it the 85% State Quota seats or the 15% VCI All India seats- require the same criteria for it to be successful, i.e NEET marks. Even the counselling will take place separately for the State Quota and All India VCI Quota.
