Course Duration: The course is provided for a minimum duration of 2 years. Each academic year comprises two semesters, i.e, odd and even semester. Odd semesters start from June/ July and continue till October/ November whereas even semesters start from November/ December and continue till April/ May. Course work comprises 90 working days. A candidate can avail a maximum of 10 Semesters (5 Years), in a continuous stretch of 5 Years from the date of admission to complete Master's Degree.
Course Work and Credits: M.Com program consists of Core courses, Elective Courses and Projects. Each semester comprises 24 credits. The total minimum credits required for completing the M.Com program is 96.
Examinations: Examinations are conducted at the end of each semester. For odd
Semesters, examinations are conducted in the month of November/ December whereas for even semesters in May/ June. A candidate who does not pass the examination in any course will be permitted to appear in subsequent examinations held in November/ December or May/ June.
Attendance: Students must maintain a minimum attendance of 75% in each semester for course continuation. Students whose attendance falls below 75% and above 50% have to apply for condonation in the prescribed form with the prescribed fee. Students with attendance less than 50% will not be allowed to appear for the end semester examinations. Students with 75% and above attendance are given 5 marks in internal evaluation whereas students below 75% and above 50% attendance are given 3 to 4 marks in internal evaluation.
Evaluation: Each course will be assessed on the basis of 100 marks. The marks would be divided between internal and external assessment. There shall be one end semester external examination of each course in every semester consisting of 70% (70 marks) weightage in theory and practical courses. The components of evaluation are:

External End semester examinations along with end semester practical examinations are also considered in final evaluation. The ratio of marks to be allotted to continuous internal assessment and to end semester examination is 30 : 70. Every student should undertake an individual project in the fourth semester. The assessment of the project work would be done on the basis of the project report submitted by the student. Passing marks for CIA are 36% out of 30 marks (i.e. 11 marks). The passing minimum marks for University or External Examinations shall be 36% out of 70 marks (i.e. 25 marks).
