Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) offers a BEd program to students based on merits obtained by the students in the entrance exam conducted by the university at different centres established all over India. IGNOU BEd admissions are based on certain eligibility criteria whereby a student must hold a Graduate degree in any teaching discipline and also should have a teaching experience or must be an NCTE recognized teacher at an Institute. The course is provided to students in both Hindi and English language. Interested students are required to apply online at the official website by paying an amount of INR 1000 as an application fee.

Candidates seeking admission are required to appear for the IGNOU BEd entrance test conducted by NTA. The final admission to the program shall be subject to their rank in the merit list in the Entrance Test and production of proof of their eligibility at the time of the last date of submission of application for admission to BEd program.

IGNOU BEd entrance is an online exam based on multiple-choice questions. The exam duration is of 1 hour with no provision of negative marking. The consists of General English Comprehension, Logical & Analytical Reasoning, Educational & General Awareness, etc.

IGNOU releases the admit card for the entrance a few days before the exam date. The admit card is released on the official website itself. Students are provided with a 9-digit enrollment number to download the admit card. The admit cards are available only for those students who have successfully submitted their IGNOU B.Ed Application form for the entrance exam.

Assignments constitute continuous evaluation. The marks that you secure in the assignments will be counted in your final result. As mentioned earlier, an assignment of a course carries 30% weightage. Cadidates are therefore advised to take their assignment seriously.
The TMA for each semester can be downloaded from the Student Zone of the University website. Candidates have to complete the assignment within the due dates specified in the assignment booklet. Camdidates will not be allowed to appear for the term-end examination for any course if they do not submit the assignment in time for that course. If students appear in the term-end examination, without submitting the assignments, the result of the term-end examination is liable to be canceled.

Ans. The B.Ed degree offered by IGNOU is acceptable and valid across India in all private and government institutions. In this case, IGNOU B.Ed Degree is recognized by both UGC and NCTE. If you pass the IGNOU B.Ed it will be a great achievement for your educational career.

Ans. Yes, it is worth doing B.Ed from IGNOU. It’s better than doing it from some other Private College which says a lot of things but when you show your certificate you find out that it doesn’t carry any weight but here you can be assured your degree will be recognized everywhere in India. The labor that goes in doing assignments, workshops, projects, and preparing 40 lesson plans in total, along with a regular teacher’s job, is tedious.

Ans. Yes, there is an Entrance Test for taking admission to IGNOU B.Ed. In the program, the final filling entrance examination will be in their position in a list of qualified list. Ans. IGNOU provides reservation of seats for SC/ ST, the non-creamy layer of OBC, Economically Weaker Sections, War Widows, Kashmiri Migrants, and Physically Handicapped, as per the Government of India rules, for admission to its programs in which there is a limited number of seats and admission is through a merit list. However, submission of the forged certificates under any category shall make the student liable not only for cancellation of admission but also legal action as per Government of India rules.

The worth of an IGNOU degree can be determined in several ways:
In IGNOU, none of the faculty members at your regional center or study center will assist you in answering your questions. You must assume everything on your own and act accordingly. If you have any questions about your assignment submission or lab courses, your study center will simply tell you to contact the regional center. And in the regional center, no one will answer the phone, and no one will respond to your emails. If you accidentally sent your document or something to the wrong center, they will notify you after the form submission deadline and tell you that there is nothing you can do and that you must submit the form again in the upcoming semester. Rude teachers will respond to your inquiries. You may feel as if you are studying without paying fees, and the teachers are unconcerned about your problems. They are simply teachers by designation; they have no idea what to do or how to assist students with assignments/labs, etc.
Students are pursuing distance education because they are unable to attend college daily due to their jobs. However, they expect them to travel to a regional center that is not in the same city every month to have our basic questions answered. In terms of projects, they may say in viva that the report should look like this. When you submit the report as instructed the next time, another superintendent will be present to reject it and instruct you to format it as before.
IGNOU does not provide semester or year-end grade reports. It will provide you with a consolidated mark sheet at the end of your program. However, if you want a mark sheet halfway through, you must apply it separately. You will be charged a nominal fee and will receive IGNOU marksheet for all of the papers you have already examined, as well as the results.
The university gives you the option of coming to the convocation ceremony to get your degree certificate or sending an Rs. 200 demand draft as they post the degree.
To be honest, IGNOU is an undesirable university in India. Don't believe those who claim that "it's the best open university" and other such nonsense. They don't give a damn about you, your future, or your time. When you go to the regional center, they tell you to go to the IGNOU headquarters. And the office of concern in the headquarter of Ignou will tell you to go to the post office, and the post office will tell you to bring the dispatch number from the headquarters of IGNOU, and they will tell you that the regional center will provide the dispatch number of the book but it would not get into your hands even at the end.
IGNOU is the worst open university; they value the number of students over the quality of education. They do nothing to help students, and IGNOU is just a big scam run by undeserving people and goons. It is strongly advised to avoid IGNOU. AMU and Jamia are far superior for open studies.

If you fail to score 50% in assignments, you will have to resubmit them. If you score above 30 out of 100 or 18 out of 500 in theory, then you will pass without having submitted assignments.
