Hidayatullah National Law University (HNLU) is an autonomous law university in New Raipur, Chhattisgarh. HNLU is named after the former Chief Justice of India, Justice Mohammad Hidayatullah. It is one of the National Law Schools established in India being sixth in the series of such national law schools. It was established as a centre for legal excellence by the Government of Chhattisgarh. The university offers a B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) integrated Programme, an L.L.M. Programme, and Ph.D. Course.

It is a residential university and is affiliated to and receives central assistance from the University Grants Commission and is recognised by the Bar Council of India. The students belonging to the state domicile Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Class, and PWD and minorities are provided with scholarships by the state government.
The University offers LLM Programme in various specializations. The programme is for a duration of one year spread over three trimesters. The LLM Programme of HNLU is designed to inculcate research skills and analytical abilities in students. It has an intake of a total of 47 seats. The admission to the programme will be done on the basis of Common Law Entrance Test (CLAT)

You should have passed the LLB/BL Degree or an equivalent degree from a recognised University with at least 55% marks in case of general category and 50% marks in case of SC and ST category.
You shall be eligible even if you are appearing or have appeared in the qualifying degree examination and are awaiting results. However, you must have passed the final year/final semester at the time of admission and must be able to submit proofs for the same.
If you have passed your qualifying degree examination through supplementary or compartment and repeat attempts, then also you are eligible provided you submit the proof of passed the qualifying exam with the above mentioned minimum requirement of marks.
You will be selected on merit, based on the Common Law Entrance Test (CLAT) for postgraduate programme.

For Registration to CLAT
Step 1: You should register yourself on the CLAT official website.
Step 2: You must then fill your personal, academics and other details as mentioned in the form including the programme you are applying for.
Step 3: You should upload your Front facing Passport size clear photograph with clear lenses (30mm x 45 mm. You should also upload your signature. Both of them should be in JPG Format, with size not more than 100 kb.

Step 4: CLAT Application fees: You must make the payment of application form fees of Rs. 4000 for General Category and Rs. 3500 for Reserved Category either online through Debit/ Credit Card or through offline ICICI Bank Challan.
Step 5: You should then finally “Submit” your Application Form online only. This completes your registration process.
