No, ragging does not happen in the Dibrugarh University hostel. Students refrain from making the freshers feel uncomfortable, instead, they are supportive. The academic pressure is too high for students at the university to engage in any such ragging activities on others. However, there have been instances of students getting debarred due to serious ragging activities in some particular hostels.  If you focus on your studies and stay away from any mishappenings at the college you would be able to stay away from the troublemakers. Even if you face any problem in the hostel premises, then you can freely consult the prefect or the warden.

During the first year, the students of all branches will have a common classroom for all subjects. It is from the 3rd semester that you will be well acquainted with respective branches. The teachers are very dedicated and cooperative and the classes are held regularly. Alongside academics, you would be left with enough time to excel through various extra-curricular activities. The annual tech fest “Auxesis” is held every odd semester and the University Week is held every even semester. The workload becomes exhausting during these semesters. The campus is serene and splendid. The greenery everywhere brings out the best of the serene beauty and creates an enthusiastic environment for studying.
