Course Details

Andhra University offers Pharm D at the College of Pharmaceutical Sciences. The PharmD course offered by the university is a 6-year full-time program and is approved by PCI India. The university was ranked 34 by NIRF for Pharmacy. Admissions for the year 2021 will begin the month of October/November and candidates who wish to apply need to do so online. The selection of candidates will be done based on a valid entrance exam scorecard. The accepted entrance exams are GPAT, BVP CET, MET, etc. that are accepted by universities.

Andhra University PharmD Eligibility Criteria

Applicants who wish to apply for PharmD at Andhra University should qualify through the eligibility criteria-

The candidate must successfully pass 10+2 with Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects with either Mathematics or Biology subject.
A minimum of 60% is required in 10+2 to qualify as an applicant for PharmD
If the candidate belongs to any reserved category such as SC/ST/OBC a relaxation of about 5% is considered.
There are no specialization courses available for the PharmD course.

Note: The course is full-time and requires no past work experience.

How to Apply?

Visit the official website of the Andhra University and register yourself
Fill out the given application form with details correctly filled in
Attach the scanned copies of the documents asked along with your signature and photo Id in the given format.
You need to pay the application fee for the entrance exam online using any of the online payment gateways – debit/credit cards or net banking.
Cross verify all the details provided in the form and submit the form carefully.
Make sure you take a printout of the form or save it on your system for future references.
You will be notified when the admit card for the entrance exam will be available
Download the admit card and verify the details mentioned on it.
Appear for the exam at the mentioned examination centre and carry your admit card.

Andhra University PharmD Course Details

PharmD course at Andhra University is a 6 year, on-campus program.
The program has two levels, candidates can apply at the graduate or postgraduate level.
You can apply for the course after 10+2 and the course duration, in that case, will be 6 years. If you apply after Baccalaureate the course duration will be 3 years.
The course will have a project work for six months in their fifth year
The final year must apply for an internship to be eligible to graduate.

One of my friends graduated from Andhra University. According to him, it is very reputed among students as well as professionals. But like every other institution, it also has its fair share of positives and negatives. Let me share them with you which you can analyze later on. Pros: It is one of the oldest universities in the country, hence has a great alumni network. The student intake in each department is 30-60, which benefits the student-teacher interaction. Each department has its own dedicated library consisting of several books, magazines, journals, and other study materials. The campus is huge, covering 600 acres. They have the biggest sports ground. Students are also provided with a gym and basketball court. The entire campus is wifi enabled. Cons: The placements are average. The number of companies visiting the college has gradually decreased. The lab equipment is not well maintained or upgraded. Andhra University follows the age-old curriculum with little to no changes. Students are told to put more emphasis on theoretical learning than practical. Exams are mostly based on theories rather than practicals. Overall, it is an above-average institution. It may not be like the IITs or NITs but still works well. It is suggested that you opt for this only if you have missed the opportunity to study in the IITs or NITs.

Check the detailed process on how to acquire the transcripts from Andhra University. Take photocopies of all the attachments you want to get attested, like semester memos, provisional certificates, etc. Head to the first floor of the Chief administrative office (CAO) and look for the Registrar’s office. Hand your documents there, once verified, proceed for the payment of the transcript application fee. Keep the soft copies of all the attachments to be attested, these must be uploaded while proceeding for payment. After payment, get the receipt and hand over the attachments with it to the PA of the Registrar. The Registrar office will verify the payment and post stamps on them. Then, it will be sent to the examination cell where they get verified for authenticity. Make sure to get the superintendent's signature on all the submitted copies. The registrar will sign the application form for final proceedings and will issue an A4 envelope to seal all your attachments to avoid tampering. Be ready with all attachments and payment by 10 AM. Do not get impatient while dealing with them, as this could delay the process. If all went well, you can get transcripts by the end of the day.
