Acharya NG Ranga Agriculture University offers various scholarships to students. There are two types of scholarships offered at ANGRAU i.e state & centrally-sponsored scholarships. These scholarships are further divided as mentioned below:

  • State Scholarship Schemes: Jagananna Vidya Deevena ( (Reimbursement of Tuition Fee), Jagananna Vasathi Deevena (Maintenance Fee) and Postgraduate Stipend.

ANGRAU State Scholarship Schemes

Given below is some detailed information on ANGRAU State Scholarship Schemes.

Jagananna Vidya Deevena (Reimbursement of Tuition Fee) The Andhra Pradesh government offers financial assistance to students who wish to pursue higher education but are unable to do so due to family financial hardships through the Jagan Anna Vidya Deevena Scheme. The compensation will be paid in four equal installments each year, straight into the mother’s accounts. Students from Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, backward classes, minorities, Kapus, economically backward classes and differently-abled groups whose yearly family income is less than INR 2.5 lakh will have their fees refunded under the Jagan Anna Vidya Deevena Scheme.
Jagananna Vasathi Deevena (Maintenance Fee) Under Jagananna Vasathi Deevena, the government provides for the hostel and mess charges of BPL students. Students will receive INR 20,000 in two installments in an academic year
Postgraduate Stipend The Government of Andhra Pradesh is providing a stipend of INR 10,000 per month to the Ph.D and INR 7,000 per month to the M.Sc students.

ANGRAU Centrally-Sponsored Scholarship Scheme

Given below is some detailed information on ANGRAU Centrally-Sponsored Scholarship Scheme. 

Senior Research Fellowship 

The Indian Council of Agricultural Research, New Delhi provides a Senior Research Fellowship of INR 31,000/- month for the First and Second years and INR 35,000 per month for the third year and INR 10,000 per annum as a contingency to Students who are selected through AIEEA (PG) to pursue their Ph.D programme.

Junior Research Fellowship

Students who are chosen through AIEEA (PG) to pursue their M.Sc. program are awarded a Junior Research Fellowship by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research, New Delhi, which pays INR 12,640 per month and INR 6000 per year as a contingency.

National Talent Scholarship

Merit based support through National Talent Scholarship to the Under-graduates (@ INR 3000 per month) and Post graduate students (@ INR 5000 per month) seeking admission in Agricultural Universities in a State other than the State of their domicile, through ICAR All India Entrance Examination (AIEE).

Merit cum Means Scholarships

To attract meritorious undergraduate students to prosecute their study in Agriculture, Agricultural Engineering and Home Science up to graduation level, ICAR sanctioned a scheme under which scholarships in these subjects are awarded annually based on merit-cum-means @ INR 1000 per month.

Student Ready Scholarships

The purpose of the Student READY (Rural Entrepreneurship Awareness Development Yojana) program is to raise undergraduate students' awareness of practical agriculture and related sciences while also giving them hands-on experience in real-world rural agricultural situations. The program will assist in developing the participants' self-assurance, skill, and local Indigenous Technical Knowledge (ITK), so preparing them for self-employment. It also seeks to offer chances for gaining practical experience and entrepreneurial abilities. The ICAR, New Delhi will support students for this program at a rate of INR 3,000 per month.

Rajiv Gandhi National Fellowship for SC and ST Students

University Grants Commission, in collaboration with the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment and the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, offers fellowships to underprivileged members of society, enabling them to pursue higher education and research opportunities. The purpose of this award is to give financial aid in the form of fellowships to SC/ST students so they can pursue higher education.

  • Fellowship: INR 6000/-p.m. for initial two years @INR 18000/-p.m. for remaining tenure
  • Contingency Allowance: @ INR 12000/-p.a. for initial two years @INR 25000/-p.a. for remaining tenure
  • House Rent Allowance: The selected candidates will be given with single-seated hostel accommodation in the university/institution. In the case of their arrangement, they can claim the amount by producing the required certificates.

National Fellowship for OBC Students

The Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India, New Delhi, has entrusted and funded the UGC to administer the National Fellowship (NF) for Other Backward Classes (OBC). Candidates from Other Backward Classes (OBC) who are pursuing higher education are eligible to apply for the program. A 3% quota of seats is set out for research researchers who are Persons with Disability (PwD) who fall under the OBC category when it comes to fellowship awards.

  • Fellowship : @INR 25000/-p.m. for initial two years @INR 28000/-p.m. for remaining tenure
  • Contingency Allowance : @INR 12000/-p.a. for initial two years @ INR 25000/-p.a. for remaining tenure

Maulana Azad National Fellowship for Minority Students

The objective of the scheme is to provide fellowships in the form of financial assistance to students from minority communities, as notified by the Central Government to pursue higher studies such as M.Phil. and Ph.D. at Indian Universities/Institutions/Colleges

  • Fellowship : @INR 25000/-p.m. for initial two years @INR 28000/-p.m. for remaining tenure
  • Contingency Allowance : @INR 12000/-p.a. for initial two years @INR 25000/-p.a. for remaining tenure

Junior Research Fellowship Scheme of UGC

The Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) scheme of the University Grants Commission (UGC) is open to candidates who qualify in the National Eligibility Test-Junior Research Fellowship(NET-JRF) of the UGC and the UGC-Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (UGC-CSIR) joint test.

  • Fellowship : @INR 25000/-p.m. for initial two years @INR 28000/-p.m. for remaining tenure
  • Contingency Allowance : @INR 12000/-p.a. for initial two years @ INR 25000/-p.a. for remaining tenure

CSIR Fellowships

Bright young men and women who want to train in research methods under the expert guidance of faculty members and scientists working in university departments, institutes of national importance, national laboratories, and institutes of CSIR in various fields of science and technology and medical sciences can apply for CSIR Research Fellowships and Associateships through the EMR Division under the HRD Group of the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR).

  • Fellowship : @INR 31000/-p.m. for initial two years @INR 35000/-p.m. for remaining tenure
  • Contingency Allowance : @INR 20000/-p.a.
