The University of Sheffield's Medical Teaching Unit is one of a small number of laboratories in the UK where you can learn human anatomy through cadaveric dissection.
You'll be able to develop advanced dissection skills and anatomical expertise using a wide range of plastinated specimens, professionally dissected wet specimens and anatomical models. Alongside this, you'll be able to learn about teaching strategies and curriculum development from academics who have won awards for their own teaching. There is the freedom to reflect on pedagogical issues and get hands-on experience of teaching undergraduate anatomy students as part of the course.
This 12-month course is taught by the University of Sheffield's human anatomy specialists and covers two major themes: a detailed study of the whole human body and hands-on training to become an effective, engaging teacher. Topics range from studying the trunk and limbs, to the head, neck and brain, to teaching strategies and curriculum development Ð a full list of current modules is given below.
