• Through option choices, this course can be tailored to student’s needs ranging from the generation and distribution of electrical energy through to control, communications and embedded systems. Circuit theory and design are key elements with maths being applied in their analysis. Other key elements are microcontroller engineering, power electronics, and digital communications.
  • The course has a strong practical element with labs to support/enforce theory and project work in every year. The embedded systems project in the second year is seen as a highlight and encourages friendly competition between student teams. In their final year, 50% of your time is devoted to a group project that is strongly linked to research/industry.
