University College London Placements: Work While Studying
The University College London provides work opportunities for their university students. The undergraduate students are only permitted to work (a paid or unpaid) for upto 20 hours during the term time. However, students are also allowed to work full time during the summer vacation only. Once the course end CAS has passed, students are permitted to work for a full time opportunity until the visa expiry date, but not a permanent one.
- Postgraduate students are only permitted to (a paid or unpaid) for upto 20 hours during the term time.
- Postgraduate Research Students are in continuous attendance and can do the work for 20 hours per week during the term time for the entire duration of the program.
The maximum one can work is 20 hours per week. And there are some restrictions based on the types of employment undertaken as a Non-EU/EEA UK student visa student. One cannot do the following:
- Be a self employed
- Can take a permanent full time job
- Be employed as a professional sports person
- Be employed as an entertainer etc.
