• M.Phil in Advanced Chemical Engineering at the University of Cambridge is offered on a full-time basis for a duration of 11-months.
  • This is an on-campus and thesis-based program.
  • This program is also offered on a part-time basis for a duration of two years.
  • Students come into College residence in late September/early October. 
  • During the first two terms, students take a total of 10 modules which includes a combination of core chemical engineering modules and elective modules based on engineering and business/management-related subjects.
  • Modules are taught by a combination of formal lectures, demonstrations, discussion classes, and example problems. 
  • Each module contains at least 16 hours for lectures, tutorials, etc and students are expected to spend at least 16 hours per week on private study and coursework preparation.
  • Students undertake a full-time research project from March to August month which results are submitted as a dissertation.
  • This project might involve business-related as well as chemical engineering research and may involve industrial collaboration. 
  • After completion of this degree, students can apply for PhD research degree for which students are expected to obtain a good Pass for the MPhil ACE course.
  • The courses are assessed by both examinations and written coursework.
