• Doctor of Philosophy in Chemical Engineering at the University of Cambridge is offered on a full-time basis for a duration of 3-4 Years.

  • In the first year, students are required to attend at least 50 percent of department seminars during Michaelmas and Lent terms, lists of the seminars are typically provided at the start of each term.

  • All first-year students must attend the two-day Researcher Development event. 
  • First-year students give an oral presentation of their work to-date as part of their First Year Assessment.  All graduate students are required to attend the CEB Research Conference.
  • Students must submit a thesis of up to 65,000 words in the last year. The thesis will be orally examined by two examiners, one internal and one external to the University.
