- The shift in emphasis from treatment to the prevention of illness and from acute illness to chronic conditions, along with an urgent need to translate successful research findings into clinical practice, allows the Alice Lee Centre for Nursing Studies (ALCNS) to position nursing research at the forefront of the healthcare sciences. The Centre’s graduate research programmes aim to develop a dynamic, vital, and productive community of investigators who conduct rigorous research to establish the scientific and evidence base for patient care.
- The Centre (part of the NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine) offers nurses in Singapore as well as from other countries two research-oriented programmes – the Master of Science (MSc) (Nursing) and the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD). The Master qualification may be converted to a Doctor of Philosophy for candidates demonstrating exceptional ability. These milestone Singapore-based qualifications enable nurses to study in a full-time or part-time mode.
