Remarks :
I chose VIT Vellore because it had better placements, a good campus environment, and more opportunities compared to the other private colleges I had applied to. I also liked the FFCS system, which gives students flexibility in choosing faculty and class timings. I got admission through VITEEE, and the counselling process was smooth and well-organized. Based on my rank, I was allotted my preferred branch and fee category. Overall, I feel choosing VIT Vellore was the right decision because of its academics, exposure, and placement opportunities.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I feel the course curriculum at VIT Vellore is relevant and covers both theory and practical concepts well. It includes lab work, projects, and electives, which help in building skills required for internships and placements. We have two CAT exams and one final exam every semester, and the difficulty level is moderate if you study regularly. I think the curriculum could be improved by including more industry-based projects and hands-on learning instead of focusing on theory in a few subjects.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The fee structure at VIT Vellore depends on the category (Category 1 to Category 5) allotted during VITEEE counselling. I am in Category 2, so my tuition fee is around ₹2.3 lakh per year. The tuition fee remains the same throughout the 4-year course once admission is confirmed; it does not increase every year for the same batch. Apart from the tuition fee, I paid a one-time refundable caution deposit of ₹3,000 in the first year. Hostel and mess charges are separate and depend on the room type selected.
Campus Life :
Campus life at VIT Vellore is really enjoyable because there is always something happening. The biggest annual cultural fest is Riviera (usually held in February) and the technical fest is GraVITas (generally in September), where students participate in lots of events and competitions. The library has a huge collection of books, journals, and digital resources, and the classrooms are well-equipped with projectors and Wi-Fi. There are many clubs for coding, music, dance, sports, and social service, so it's easy to find activities that match your interests and make new friends.
Faculty :
The faculty members at VIT Vellore are generally knowledgeable and experienced. Most of them are helpful and approachable if you have doubts or need guidance outside class. One of the best things here is the FFCS system, where students can choose their faculty and class timings, so you can select professors based on senior reviews and your learning preference. Some professors teach really well with practical examples, while a few rely mostly on presentations, so the teaching experience can vary from faculty to faculty. The course curriculum is well-structured and covers both theoretical concepts and practical applications. It is updated regularly and includes lab sessions, projects, and electives that help build industry-relevant skills. Every semester has two Continuous Assessment Tests (CAT-1 and CAT-2), quizzes, assignments, lab evaluations, and a Final Assessment Test (FAT). The marking scheme includes both internal assessment and the end-semester exam, so consistent performance throughout the semester is important. The exams are of moderate difficulty. Students who attend classes regularly and study consistently usually do not face much difficulty in passing, while those who skip classes or don't prepare well may end up getting backlogs. Overall, the academic system is balanced and encourages continuous learning.

Then using each heading, I would discuss the relative values and drawbacks of each component. Such as, to what extent were the learning objectives successfully completed by the students. What and why were there difficulties in completing them? Next for the course content, I would discuss and analyse the content of the curriculum. What were the subject areas covered and why? What changes were made in the course content and why? What levels of course content was used and why were these levels used? Was the amount of content sufficient, too little, or too much? Etc And so on, working through the headings. Asking appropriate questions that help to evaluate the whole curriculum and who uses it.An evaluation of an existing curriculum will focus on the key components of the curriculum. i.e. Aims and objectives, course content, teaching and learning methods, the assessment and evaluation methods. Inherent in all the components is the experiences and learning of the students.
