- The encouragment provided by the Council when it comes to not only academics but also socail programs including the NCC and the NSS which plays a huge role in making good citizens out of the students of our college.
- The outstanding teaching staff and the professors that have been recruited by the Government in our college and their absolutely amazing teaching experience that ensures the academic excellence for the students of the college and provide the best.
- The scholarships and student loans facility provided due to it being under the government sector helps the students thoroughly especially the students who are financially independent and propose to pay for their own college learning experiences.
Dislikes
- The lack of maintenance when it comes to the infrastructure that was damaged initially by natural disasters like the recent earthquakes.
- Apart from the facilities provided for the volleyball court, there is a lack of facilities for other sports and activities like a basketbal court and vice versa.
- Irregularity of a few events and programs which dont take place every year and now and then.
Remarks :
The admission process usually takes a few weeks at the most. Being a student for 2 years has definitely given me a more detailed insight towards the smooth process of admission while is initiated and done over time which eventually leads to a good amount of student strength under necessary qualifications and criterias.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The course curriculum in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness provides with the real worldly applications which prepares the students for achieving their academic pursuits in their own fields. The exam timings and the marking schemes are all fixed by the NBU (North Bengal University). The reasonable changes when needed for providing excellence amongst the deserving students are made effectively right away proving the relevance and efforts in making changes in accordance with the contemporary times.
Internships Opportunities :
Insight to internships and opportunities are provided through seminars which enhances and educates the students on their journey of being recruited under different fields of life and pursuits apart from their own courses of study as well.
Placement Experience :
The college not only provides placements eventually but also during the course of time provides with more realistic and good opportunities for the students and placements in other worldy pursuits apart from just the students' specifc fields.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Darjeeling ent College as it stands today since 5th August, 1948, has transversed a long way in serving the community. The college is situated in the foot of the Eastern-Himalayan Region at an altitude of 2134 metres. The full time Government teachers are appointed by the Government under the West Bengal Education Service and West Bengal Senior Education Service, following the eligibility criteria framed by the UGC. The college is full-fledged Government College which comes in with a lot of good opportunities for students to apply and attain scholarships through academic excellence. Along with an inexpensive amount of tution fees, the college alongside social awareness programs also tries to produce good citizens out of their students throught the NSS and NCC training to the students. Darjeeling Government CollegeCollege has already earned fame over the last 76 years of excellence for encouraging academic excellence through organizing national workshops.
Campus Life :
Darjeeling Government College apart from providing academic excellence provides the students with serene campus environment which enhances the learning experience through aesthetic views. Apart from the serene environment, a number of clubs are run by the student Council for example, the Writer's Club of Darjeeling Government College, the Dance Club , etc.
Hostel Facilities :
Darjeeling Government College provides with a number of Hostel options which only Girls can opt for. The facilities provided entirely satisfies the needs of the students and the warden's invigilation provides the students with safety and security throughout. Apart from hostels, if one fails to opt for one, there are a number of options for rental accommodations around and about the college area and premises.
Faculty :
The Faculty members play a huge rule in the academic excellence of the students that graduate from Darjeeling Government college and since our college falls under the Government sector, all teachers are recruited the appropriate services which provides the students with an impeccable learning experience and promotes in achievinv success in their own fields.
Interview Experience :
There is no such interview, group discussion or written test for admission in Darjeeling Government College. The students are provided with admission on the basis of merit solely, i.e. on the basis of their marksheet of their board examinations.

They does not teach only for the exams but they make sure that we learn everything with depth. We have a semester exams in every 6 month but sometimes it becomes 7 or 5. But the teachers are really supportive so that we don't panic in our exams.
