- The best thing about the college is that the students are from diverse culture and the teachers also. Thus There is no problem in communication and indisparity
- The teachers are highly qualified and brings experience from the industry which helps the students to get more practical knowledge
- The classroom are Highly equipped with smart boards helps to learn vast topic easily with ppt and seminarsm
Dislikes
- The campus of the college is limited. They don't have a playground of their own which restricts physical activities and games for students.
- The non-core teachers tend to change every semester. It reduces the connection of the students with the teacher as they don't stay for long.
- During peak summers the weather becomes very hot and the fans in classroom don't give much coolness. There is Ac only in faculty room. There should be AC in senior students classes.
Remarks :
I chose this college as it offers 2 degree programs only and I prefer Quality over Quantity. It was also recommended by my friends and teachers. I didn't apply for any other colleges as my decision was firm. The admission process is very simple we can apply online through college website or we can walk in the college and get the admission done physically as well. The admission department of the college was very hospitable and friendly
Course Curriculum Overview :
The course is relevant to be prepared for the real world applications. They create a professional environment for the students checking the grooming personality and character development of the students for their betterment to be industry ready. We get internship programs in the 3rd year of the college depending upon the interview of ours. Infact I'm in my 2nd year or college and we are working in Pantaloons City Centre for 1 month as a Work Learn Program on behalf of the college. The connection of the college for placements is what I beleive should have improvements in as we pay high fees and the placement should be Little high companies. The timing of the exams are decided by the University so it goes along with our schedule and we get enough time to prepare for the exams.
Internships Opportunities :
Well I'm in 2nd year and we presently do not have the idea of what things will happen in internship however our teachers have given an overview which says that we have to assist the managers according to our job roles. The basic roles offered will be Sales Executive, Marketing Executive, Operations Management, SCM etc.
Placement Experience :
The average placement package of the college or BBA degree is 2.4LPA - 4LPA depends on the different roles and interview we sit for. Last year around 90-95% students got placed in various companies and business firms. The various companies that recruits our students are HDFC Bank, Axis Bank, Reliance, Chai Chun, Patanjali, Tata Motors etc. After the degree I will start of business and pursue MBA alongside
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
In our college the fees are to be paid semester wise. 40000 per semester but to those who have got 70 or 80% in +2 they are given certain discounts. Few students of our class are paying 33000 per semester that is 6 months. And to those students who are financially weak the college provides Student Credit Card and get loans on vert low interest rate .
Campus Life :
The college works in a system that have continuous programs on the second half of the year. It organises cultural fests and programs focusing on social aspects for example Bengali Food Fest , Christmas Celebration etc they are basically held in the month or October - November There is indoor sports facilities such as Table Tennis, Badminton, Carrom but do not have outdoor sport programs. We have to go to another park to play outdoor sports that also after asking for permission to the concerned person. However there are 3 clubs for students Photography Club, Sports Club and Events Club which gives a happy time for students
Faculty :
The faculty of the college is qualified enough in their proficient fields. The course coordinator of both BBA and BHHA have received PhD in their respective fields. The teachers refer themselves as facilitators and have a very friendly approach. Dr. Sweta Patnaik is our course coordinator and she acts very professional inside the classroom but is very friendly after the class gets over. There are 4 CA's of 25 marks each and a 70 marks exam every semester. The pass ratio in our class is 13-1

I wanted to become an entrepreneur and that is why I opted for Business Administration Degree. Therefore to become an entrepreneur I need to have understanding of all aspects of business thus I opted for this degree. As we are having a 4 year degree program the college will provide training and internship programs accordingly in the 2nd and 3rd year. The college curriculum also intends to conduct seminars and business program relevantly and also calls out big names from the industry that shares their experiences which helps us to have a concept. I beleive that the students of BBA especially should be given more responsibilities and events to conduct in college as it will be a good practice for us. The exam timings are perfect as it is set by the University and the college cannot do anything to change it's timing.

from this year (2024) kalimpong college department of bba has started the internship facilities....in many company's and banks like SBI life tds company. post offices and etc students are eligible for the internship in last year of the course they have to clear all their backlogs before going for internship programme! after getting the degree I would like to give competative exams for banking ( po post )

The placement of this college is very good. I got the opportunity to work with Haayat regency due to this college. Many students got placed in 5 star hotels. The faculty members teaches and prepare us in such a manner that we are bound to get placement

Institute of Engineering & Management , Kolkata has not released the 2024 placement data. However, the 2024 NIRF report has been released. As per the report, 767 BTech and 21 MTech students were placed during 2023 placements. The median package for BTech and MTech stood at INR 4.80 LPA and INR 4.25 LPA, respectively. In addition to this, 246 MBA students were placed during IEM Kolkata placements 2023. The median package offered to MBA students was INR 15 PA.

The college offers a range of internships as early as from First Semesters. With a mix of paid and unpaid internships based on experience and knowledge. Overall every student is highly satisfied with the internships and events for the same by the college. Though the college boasts a record of 80% placement rate with an average package of 3 lakhs. Somehow I think that data is to be based on facts by the students rather than the college claims. From my knowledge most of the passout students with a 7.5-8.0 and above CGPA got their placements from the college. In good companies such as TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Deloitte, Techno India Group and many reputed places.
