- I really like the campus the way it is surrounded with nature it gives a really rich feeling. Whenever we go for morning or evening walk the plants flowers within the campus make our day.
- Another thing I like is the huge Library. The library has almost all the books i need for my course as well as for competitive examinations. It has proper access of laptop computer and wifi. Also it has very sophisticated space for all the readers .
- Our university has 3 common canteen and more private canteen for the departments. I really like the affordable and easy to get food. They are healthy, affordable.
Dislikes
- Our department space is little small. Although now they are increasing the site of our department by building another building still it is not complete yet therefore sometimes we has to go through problems.
- The no of equipment in laboratory also a own laboratory for the specialisation students apart from the common one.
- Time management.we have to attend whole day class it is something I personally hate. I do think that now as a master's student the GE and AEC lagibo ke subjects should be excluded so that we can give some more time on our main papers.
Remarks :
The eligibility of course is very high in terms of unreserved category. The marks for zoology goes upto 70 and botany goes upto 60-70 ( full marks 100) and there are only 5 UR seats. The application form,fees details etc are already provided on University websites . The admission process is offline at the specific department. The admission fees is submitted to the administrative building. There are huge benefit on the reservation for lower cast like ST SC ETC . THEY get admitted in lower marks than the unreserved category students. I do think the admission process can be advanced if the students who get admitted from the waiting list should be merit based regardless of their reservation or any quota.
Course Curriculum Overview :
Choosing Master of Life Sciences in DU is due to several compelling reasons like Career Advancement here is better in terms of other universities in Assam. The course design by Dibrugarh University is more relevant and close to the exam like NET, SLET CTET etc. The laboratory courses and practicals help us to understand almost all the instrument used in biology lab hence helping us in future like during PhD or in case anyone chooses to be laboratory assistant etc.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
When we first took admission the fees of the department was approx 7000 but this year it has increased by some hundreds. We have to pay almost 2000-3000 rupees as registration fees during the even semesters . The examination form fillup fees is different in different semester ranging from 1500-2000 including the lab fees, examination fees etc. But for some of my batchmates who are eligible for fees waiver schemes and reservation quota they don't have to pay any admission fees . They only has to pay for the examination one. The students from different quota like OBC ,st ,Sc etc they get various scholarships like DHE, OBC scholarship etc. For the DHE scholarship they got almost 10000 and for OBC it was maybe 7000 rupees. Apart from that we the residents of hostel got scholarship of 8720 rupees in a year.
Campus Life :
The most famous occasion is the versity week which held in March usually. The other occasions like freshers, farewell, various vauna etc are also celebrated here. The range of books and journals is huge . Starting from daily newspaper to famous authors books which are hard to find , research paper of different scientists are present here. The classroom has access to various laboratory equipment, touch screen monitor, computer room etc. The nss group is very famous in University. Almost all types of outdoor and indoor games are played here. The university has more than 4 fields.
Hostel Facilities :
My hostel facility is quite good. The hostel fees is 1600 which is very affordable. The room is clean equiped with a bed, table chair, a rack . The meal is also quite good with a combination of meat ,fish ,egg and vegetables. Hostel can be applied during the admission process in the department.it is purely based on merit.
Faculty :
Our teachers and professors are highly professional, talented. They try their best to give lectures on a common ground so that no student is excluded even if they are Little slow in studies.They provide mantor mantee system so that all students feel included as well as all students can easily interect with teachers. The PhD scholars and lab assistants are always there for our help. We can interact with the teacher anytime.

Actually there is very less competition in this subject as there are very less students. And I like solving mathematical problems so i chose this subject. Exams are conducted 3 times in a semester. 2 sessionals and 1 final end semester exam.
