Which school should I choose, BITS Pilani Goa campus or IIT Gandhinagar?
Posted On - Mar 16, 2021There are the following points that you need to keep in mind while choosing between BITS Pilani Goa campus and IIT Gandhinagar:
- Choose your branch. When making this decision, it is crucial to consider what branch you want to pursue. Talk to people who have done CS or Electrical Engineering and gather information about both fields.
- Decide between IIT and BITS. BITS has a good alumni network, and its CS package is higher than IIT GN's Electrical Engineering package. However, IIT has a better brand value, especially if you plan to pursue higher education or move to the United States. If you want to go to the USA, choose IIT. If you plan to stay in India, BITS Goa is well recognized, and placements in CS are better at BITS than at IIT GN.
- Chill out! If you are undecided about your future plans or your choice of college, don't worry too much about it. Choose a place where you can enjoy your B.Tech life. If you want to have fun, BITS Goa is the better option as it is located in Goa.
Being in your position, there was a time one of my friends also faced a similar situation and she took the choice of joining IIT Gandhinagar, which turned out to be really great for her. At first it could be a little overwhelming due to the constant support you will receive there but once you get accustomed it becomes easier.
So, here’s mentioning a few pointers as to why IIT Gandhinagar is unique :
- The Institute hosts a 5 weeks foundation program in order to provide great exposure to the students about various domains of life. The program is initiated just after the student joins the institute.
- You will find their students are not treated as children rather as young adults. Hence, they enjoy a lot of freedom along with lots of responsibilities.
- When it comes to student initiatives you will find IIT Gandhinagar as very supportive. Students are even encouraged to start new activities and are fully supported financially and are well guided by the institute.
Other than these, IIT Gandhinagar even emphasizes keeping the morale of the students high. There are a lot of other factors as well which make IIT Gandhinagar a dynamic institution:
- It holds a flexible academic structure, that allows the student to design his/her own path and decide the pace.
- The Institute gives great importance to the department of HSS(Humanities and Social Sciences) which gives students a lot to explore, there are a variety of courses apart from regular ones like entrepreneurship, career decision making, etc which give students a holistic perspective.
Every year more than 25% of the undergraduate class availed educational or internship opportunities abroad. With respect to all the points mentioned above, it is suggested that IIT Gandhinagar would definitely prove to be a better option.
