Doing an MS from US will be better. You will get better exposure. A degree from US is valid all across the world. So, you can settle anywhere in the USA and the world. The annual salary of an MS degree holder from the USA is around $73,900 (INR 54,31,413).

NICMAR Pune is well-known for offering management studies in the field of Civil Engineering. But they offer MBA programs, not technical ones. In Indian standers, NICMAR Pune placements are good. Students receive an average CTC of around INR 6.75 LPA.

Both of these are completely different options and will lead to different tracks. You have to prepare differently for each course and focus on that to get better in the individual streams.

From a financial point of view:

NICMAR:

  • NICMAR requires an investment of about INR 12 Lacs.
  • And after that, the candidate will get placed in an entry or mid-level position in Indian, Gulf, Southeast Asia, and Africa-based companies.
  • The packages offered will range from INR 4.5 LPA to 12 LPA for domestic and 10-18 LPA for international.
  • The packages depend on the capability, experience, and aptitude of the candidate.

MS in US:

  • An MS in the US will require an investment of about INR 30-50 LPA depending upon whether it is a private or state university.
  • The candidate will get to experience a great 2 years in a diverse environment.
  • If the student manages to get a job in the US, they can earn between INR 36 lakh to 47 lakh.
  • But if the candidate could not get a job in the US, then after returning to India, it will be harder to get packages above INR 6-7 LPA in Construction related profiles. And it would be a big problem as it had taken a large investment.

It is important to look at the risks and then make a decision. Choose the one you are most comfortable with and proceed accordingly.
