NITIE offers admission to its Post Graduate Diploma in Industrial Engineering (PGDIE) program based on a candidate's performance in either the Common Admission Test (CAT) or the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE).

Candidates who have a valid GATE score are eligible to apply for admission to the PGDIE program. However, in addition to GATE scores, candidates can also submit their CAT scores to be considered for admission.

NITIE uses a merit-based selection process that takes into account a candidate's academic performance, work experience, CAT/GATE scores, group discussion, and personal interviews. The weightage given to each of these factors may vary from year to year.

Candidates who have qualified for either the CAT or GATE exams are eligible to apply for admission to NITIE's PGDIE program. The institute takes a holistic approach to admissions, and the final selection is based on several factors, including a candidate's performance in the qualifying exams, work experience, and performance in group discussions and personal interview rounds.

If you want to take admission in PGIE, NITIE will only call you if you have a qualified GATE score.

CAT score is taken into consideration for the admission process of PGDIM (Industrial Management) and PGDISEM (Industrial Safety and Environment Management) courses.

You should have an Engineering/ Technology graduation degree in any branch with an aggregate of 60% marks for the general category (55% in the case of the SC/ ST/ PwD category candidates).

If you are in your final year of engineering, you can also apply only if you qualify the eligibility criteria for exams. The admission will be cancelled in case you fail to meet the eligibility criteria or do not qualify.
