Yes, BITS Pilani students receive international offers for placements, especially those who pursue technological courses. Each year the CSE department receives high paying national and international offers. There are other departments as well that receive international offers.

However, to get such an offer you will have to stand out from the other students. To do this, you will have to maintain a perfect resume with the right number of internships and practical projects. Moreover, your English communication skills must be really good. If you work hard and maintain a good score, you will be considered for foreign job opportunities. You will have to ace the interview round to be considered for such roles. Do not lose hope and keep working hard.

Yes, BITS Pilani does receive international placement offers for its students, especially for those pursuing engineering and technology-related courses. In its formative years, the Institute tied up with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Boston, USA. The university has a strong reputation in India and abroad, and many multinational companies, research organizations, and startups actively recruit BITS Pilani graduates.

The Institute has collaborative arrangements in terms of the exchange of students, faculty, and information with several institutions. Some of these institutions are MIT, Boston, USA; Cornell University, Ithaca, USA, The University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia, and Lund University, Sweden. Every year about 30 students visit foreign Universities to do off-campus thesis, semester-abroad programs, and internships.

Few of my school friends completed their graduation from BITS Pilani and they are well settled in Indian companies only. Although the placement cell works hard to get foreign companies, most students are satisfied with Indian companies offering great packages. Here are some insights you need to know.

  • All three campuses of BITS have their own placement cell which is highly active and try to bring international offers. However, it's very rare for an international company to visit the campus for recruitment. Especially for BITS Goa campus, you won’t see a foreign IT company at all.
  • When you apply to a company (for an Indian or foreign role) off-campus, the first round would be resume shortlisting, where the recruiter would go through the hundreds of applicants’ resumes and choose the best out of them.
  • Even if you are one of the best-performing students of BITS you might also get rejected if you try to apply to foreign companies on your own. The main reason behind this is most BITSians or any Indian institute students don't have out-of-curriculum projects or achievements.

At last, it is quite difficult to be placed in a foreign company through BITS or most Indian colleges. However, if you have the caliber which those companies are looking for there are hundreds of opportunities waiting for you. Without relying on on-campus recruitments, you can apply through off-campus hiring. The only difference is that you need to put some extra effort into it.
