The World's First Yoga University outside India- 'Vivekananda Yoga University (VaYU)' is all set to start the virtual classes amid COVID-19. The University is located in Los Angeles, California, USA and focuses on Graduate Yoga Education and Research.
The Vivekananda Yoga University is jointly established by Minister of State for External Affairs V Muraleedharan and Chairperson of Standing Committee of External Affairs PP Chaudhary.

VaYU is founded on the principles of 19th century Hindu Guru Swami Vivekananda's prescription for Universal welfare. It is a blend of the best of East with the best of the West.
Students Enrolled
About 30 students have enrolled in the MS Yoga Program offered by VaYU and their age ranges between 28-71 years. The students belong from diversified backgrounds like some are professors, engineers, entrepreneurs and even physicians.
VaYU Faculty
The faculty of the University have been recruited from SVYASA- the first yoga university in India. The faculty of the University routinely collaborate on research projects with the world-renowned research institutions such as Harvard University, UC San Francisco, UT Austin, MIT, etc.
The University also plans to open a campus in Japan and the next semester is expected to commence in January next year.
VaYU has created an online graduate curriculum that is geographically-neutral with time-flexible delivery. This will help all the professionals who seek the knowledge of Yoga without compromising their lives and will get the degree without relocating and disrupting their routine.
