University of Mysore is getting ready to conduct final semester exams as the University Grant Commission (UGC) has released its new guidelines for the conduct of final exams.

As per sources, University of Mysore will conduct the undergraduate and postgraduate courses final year examinations by the end of September.

“A tentative list of dates has been prepared to conduct the examinations simultaneously from September 2 to 27 for undergraduate and postgraduate courses,” said Registrar Prof R Shivappa.

The varsity is waiting for the state government’s permission as it must take a call on conducting all universities after going through UGC’s directions. 

“Once the state government gives a green signal, UoM will announce the timetable for the exams,” said Registrar Prof R Shivappa.

Furthermore, Prof R. Shivappa mentioned that bridge classes will be held for 15 days before the examination as per a decision made by the varsity’s academic council meeting held recently under the chairmanship of vice-chancellor Prof G Hemantha Kumar. 

It is mandatory to conduct all final year exams as per the academic calendar for universities. As per sources, over 1.2 lakh students are studying in various PG, UG and PhD programmes at UoM.
