SPJIMR PGDM: New 3-Stage Admission Policy

SPJIMR Mumbai is one of the top-ranked business schools in India with an excellent placement record widely known for its high cutoffs in merit-based selection process that goes at par with that of the IIMs. .

The merit-based selection process is split in 3 stages: profile-based shortlisting, shortlisting based on profile + CAT/GMAT scores and the interview process.

Profile-Based Shortlisting and Early Interview

Applicants are shortlisted on the basis of their profiles apart from meeting the qualifying scores in any of the entrance exams. The profiles are scored and the applicants are sorted into two groups: Profile based and Profile-cum-score based.

Applicants who are shortlisted in the first group will be called for an early interview. The shortlist is based on their profile considering factors like:

  • Consistency of academic record
  • Relevance of work experience for the specialisation
  • Versatility and achievements

It will give this NIRF 18th Rank management institute an opportunity to stagger interviews and ensure that the process remains robust despite the large number of applicants.

Profile-Based Shortlisting and Performance in Entrance Exam

SPJIMR PGDM: Interview Process

SPJIMR's interview process comprises a WAT round, a psychometric test, and two group interviews with a panel. The institute does not conduct a personal interview or group discussion round in SPJIMR's admissions process.

  1. The WAT round requires applicants to write a short essay on topics that are most commonly abstract in nature with a 300 word limit. Candidates are given 30 minutes for the WAT along with a psychometric test.

The admission rounds will be conducted in mid-January to late-February and selected candidates will receive admission offers to SPJIMR's two-year PGDM program. The selection will find a basis in composite score of applicant’s profile, academic record, entrance test scores (CAT/ GMAT), work experience (if any) and performance in the two rounds of group interviews.
