Delhi University officially laid down the foundation of the new Regional Center (West) of School of Open Learning (SOL), Delhi University in Keshavpuram. The university has also recently launched 16 online certificate courses to be offered from the 2021-22 academic year.
The inauguration of the West Delhi Center of SOL DU was headed by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. P C Joshi and Dr Vikas Gupta (Registrar) with other dignitaries including Prof. Balram Pani (Director, COL) and Prof. U.S. Pandey (Principal, SOL) of Delhi University.
Dr U S Pandey, the Principal of the School of Open Learning, said that the newly introduced West Delhi Centre of SOL will function from the existing Campus of Open Learning (COL, Keshav Puram) centre and it will soon be functional to help and administer thousands of admission seekers both for academic and administrative support to students.
Already, the SOL has an existing Regional Centre in Moti Bagh (South Campus) to share the administrative and academic load of the main SOL (North Campus).
Delhi University to Offer 16 New Certificate Courses
The host institution, Campus of Open Learning (COL, Delhi University) has decided to offer 16 more Certificate Courses to its portfolio along with its existing industry training partner, RK Educational Trust. The certificate courses shall be offered both through online and offline modes from the academic year 2021-22.

The certificate courses on offer include acting, radio jockeying, anchoring, TV journalism, mass communication, interior design, fashion design, merchandising, fashion modeling, fine arts, financial markets, office automation, e-accounting, soft skills, event management, public relations, digital marketing, photography, animation, video editing, filmmaking, direction, graphic design, personality development, stenography, data sciences, machine learning, ethical hacking and cyber security.
Candidates who have successfully qualified their class 12th from recognized boards are eligible for admission to these certificate courses. Moreover, the candidates who have already enrolled in various other institutions can also enroll in these courses. Candidates who will complete the certificate courses successfully will be awarded with certification from the DU.
