Saveetha Institute of Medical and Technical Sciences, Chennai, Tamil Nadu has set a new record for publishing more than 10,000 journals. The institute has broken its own earlier record by crossing 10000 publications in Scopus. 

A total of 10,06 research papers till date has been published by the Saveetha Institute of Medical and Technical Sciences. Out of the total research papers, 6,417 affiliations are from the Saveetha Dental College and Hospital, and 730 from the Saveetha Engineering College. In contrast, around 2,173 journals have been published by Saveetha School of Engineering, and 731 by Saveetha Medical College and Hospital

With a cite score of 38,000 and nearing 100 in the h index, the institute has reached yet another milestone. The h index is the reference of all the scientific excellence in an author level metric. 

Earlier, the institute was placed in 100+ rankings in the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings released in April 2021, where it achieved this ranking among 1,200 universities from around the world on action taken towards the United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The founder and chancellor of Saveetha Institute of Medical and Technical Sciences, NM Veeraiyan, said that in the current trends, Saveetha is set to become one of the top 100 international universities in the upcoming future. 

Overall Saveetha Institute of Medical and Technical Sciences has been making some of the extraordinary contributions towards the research. Considering the ongoing global pandemic,everyone in the sector globally, including the staff and students have coped magnificently, he said. 

Further, NM Veeraiyan, the founder of the institute thanked the staff and students' for their achievement of setting a new record for publishing more than 10,000 journals. He also lauded their hard work and dedication.
