The company that conducts the SAT College Entrance Exam has decided to suspend the home version of the test this year. This is done as the company believes that all students might not have easy internet access.

The online SAT 2020 test would require three hours of uninterrupted internet access, which all students may not be able to get in the pandemic situation.

David Coleman, CEO of the College Board stated in regard to this, "There are more important things to look after than tests in this difficult time. In making these difficult decisions we focused on reducing the anxiety that students and families are already experiencing this year."

On the other hand, the company that administers the ACT exam said that it will be continuing with the announced plans for home exams.

The College Board has taken this decision after thousands of students underwent technical glitches while trying to submit the online version of the Company's Advanced Placement Exam. Out of more than 4.6 million tests taken at home, 20,000 tests resulted in errors.

Officials have announced that the students who were unable to submit their tests will have to retake the test.

The company is asking the colleges to accept the test scores as late as possible to give equal consideration to students who were unable to take the test due to COVID-19 outbreak.
