January 5, 2021: Looking at the left over seats even after Punjab NEET Counselling round 2, some of the Punjab Dental Colleges have decided to offer discounts in the tuition fees.
The third round of Punjab NEET Counselling will be held for the remaining 88 MBBS and 479 BDS seats. A total of 970 applicants are eligible to be a part of Punjab NEET Mop-Up Round.
However, the dental colleges fear that many seats might remain vacant, as most of the eligible aspirants want to pursue MBBS.
To attract students and fill up the vacant seats, Punjab Dental colleges have decided to lower the BDS fees.

Out of the remaining Punjab BDS seats, 237 are under Government and 227 seats are under management quota.
The Punjab dental colleges did not receive many admission requests after the first two rounds of Punjab NEET Counselling 2020. The number of vacant seats at Genesis Dental College, Ferozepur stands at 58, whereas 39 seats are still available at Adesh Dental College, Bathinda.
In Punjab, there are 15 dental colleges and 9 medical colleges. There are a total 1,375 MBBS seats and 1,140 BDS seats in the state.
To fill up the vacant seats, the Punjab dental colleges are offering admission under management quota but the students need to pay a fee fixed for government quota seats. The tuition fee charged under management quota is usually INR 2.20 lakhs annually.
