New Delhi: As per the latest updates, Allahabad State University, also known as Professor Rajendra Singh University (PRSU) will take strict action against more than 1700 students for cheating act as they were found using unfair means during the odd semester examination.
As per PRSU, the university will take action against 1709 students, out of which 799 were involved in mass copying and 910 students were caught in a cheating act during the exam. Due to this, they will now have to re-appear for the exam in order to pass the subjects.
The decision to cancel the exam of students was made by Vice Chancellor and Examination Committee Head, Professor Akhilesh Kumar Singh. The university will now decide the action to be taken, which can include both debarring and imposing heavy penalties on students.
In addition to this, the university has decided to take action against the 14 examination centres of the Prayagraj, Kaushambi, Pratapgarh and Fatehpur divisions. The authority has sent a notice to 14 colleges and further course of action will be taken after considering the situation.
Earlier, Allahabad State University started the odd semester exam for university students on January 13, 2023. The exam was held at 132 exam centers across the state for four lakh registered candidates. Those who appeared for the exam have been caught cheating twice.
Informing about the situation, Vice Chancellor Prof. Akhilesh Kumar Singh said that last year over 25000 students were caught in the act and re-examination was held for these students. In addition to this, the university has taken fine action against 270 colleges for the same.
The exam cell is now preparing to conduct the third-year annual exam for registered candidates from May 01, 2023 and the practical exam from April 15, 2023. Those who are preparing to appear for the exam can check the complete schedule on the official website at prsuniv.ac.in.
