Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai's office said that the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi will inaugurate the new campus of Dr B R Ambedkar School of Economic University, Bangalore, on December 6, 2021.
The new Dr B R Ambedkar School of Economic University, has been set up on the Jnanabharathi campus of Bengaluru University.
The CMO stated that a high-profile meeting was organised with the Karnataka Chief Minister, Basavaraj Bommai, and other ministers to oversee the preparation for the inaugural programme of the new campus.

Anticipating to host the esteemed PM Modi, the Chief Minister tweeted regarding the arrival of the PM in the city on December 6 to inaugurate the new campus of Dr. B.R Ambedkar School of Economics.
Further, he also tweeted about the discussions with authorities and ministers regarding the inaugural preparation of the event.
The new campus building was established two years ago and around INR 150 crore was released to the Dr B R Ambedkar School of Economics (BASE) for civil work.
However, the new campus building will be inaugurated four years after the academic sessions of BASE were inaugurated earlier in 2017 by the former PM Dr Manmohan Singh, at Dr BR Ambedkar Bhavan.

Speaking at an official meeting, NR Bhanumurthy, Vice-Chancellor, Bangalore University, said that the Infrastructure including the faculty quarters is yet to be finished and it remains a challenge for the institute that claims to be modelled on the lines of the London School of Economics. At present, the university is running at the capacity of 240 students.
Currently, there are only 50 students present in the campus and the classes were being conducted at the Bangalore University campus till the students were shifted out in 2019 to the new campus, VR Bhanumurthy said.
The CMO revealed that Ministers CN Ashwathnarayan, V Somanna, Muniratna and senior officials Kumar Naik, Gaurav Gupta, Selvakumar and Chancellor of the university Dr Bhanumurthy participated in the high-level meeting.
