More than 42,000 applications have been submitted to Patna University for admission to various courses, both conventional and self-financing, for 2020-21. The online submission of applications for admission to undergraduate courses ended on 31 August.
The registrar of the university said that the last date for submitting applications for admission to postgraduate courses had been extended to 21 September because of a delay in publishing results.

10,200 students have applied to Patna University for the BA course, as opposed to 500 each in Patna college and B N College, and 450 in Magadh Mahila College.
More than 10,000 applications have been received for admission to the B.Sc course, against a combined total of 1,206 seats in the science stream in Patna Science College, BN College and Magadh Mahila College.

As for B.Com, the university received 9,500 applications against 650 seats in Vanijya Mahavidyalaya and Magadh Mahila College combined.
Admission to the undergraduate courses in different colleges of PU will be held through department-wise combined entrance tests.
The entrance test for admission to B.Com is likely to be held on 26 September; the admission test for BA will be held two days later, on 28 September. The trance tests for admission to B.Sc and BFA will be held on 29 and 30 September, respectively.
Magadh Mahila College will hold the combined entrance test for admission to the BA and B.Com courses, while Patna Science College will hold the entrance test for the B.Sc course.
The entrance tests for all self-financing courses at the undergraduate and postgraduate level will be held between 30 September and 7 October. Admission to the conventional postgraduate courses will be done on the basis of grades obtained in the last graduation examination.
