With the increasing number of COVID positive cases, parents fear to send their children for ICSE or CBSE board exams scheduled in the month of July.

To attract the Union Human Resource Development Ministry's attention, parents will start a 'tweetathon' on June 12, 2020.

Parents fear that with the approaching monsoon season when students become susceptible to catch cough and cold, July may see a major spike in coronavirus cases.

Hence the parents are not in favour of July CBSE class 10, CBSE class 12 or ICSE board and want the state government to intervene and postpone the exams until the situation stabilises or figures out an alternative.

"In March when the cases were less, nationwide lockdown came into effect. Now when the cases are increasing and could be at a peak in July, they want children to come out and sit for exams. This is sheer lack of planning and consideration towards the health and well being of the future of our country." said Nidhi Mathur, a parent of class 10 and 12 students.

Adding to this she said, "We are strongly against the exams as nothing is above life. On Friday, we called parents to join us on Twitter and tweet relentlessly so that our voices are finally heard." 

Students on the other hand are facing double whammy in managing class 11 studies and simultaneously appearing for board exams.

"The examinations were called off abruptly. Then we were promoted to the next class. Now, suddenly we have to manage assignments of class 11 and give class 10 exams as well. We are not machines." said Kabir Beotra, a student.
