OJEE Board has announced that the Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE) documents of students will be verified online during counselling for BTech, BArch, Integrated MSc courses amid the Coronavirus pandemic.

As per the board, students will not be required to visit any nodal centers for OJEE document verification. The OJEE chairman SK Chand stated that they will conduct web-based counselling this year due to the COVID-19 situation.

"Till last year, we were organising nodal centres across the state for counselling and document verification. Students were coming in numbers to the nodal centres in different scheduled dates," said SK Chand.

"In this web-based counselling process, candidates will upload their documents in the OJEE website and our team will verify it. After this they can download their allotment letter for admission," he added.

One of the officials of OJEE stated that the decision to conduct web-counselling will ensure the safety of students as well as staff.

As normally hundreds of students along with their guardian appear at the nodal center. Following this process will not be ideal during the current situation.

"If it can be possible through the online process, why physical presence is needed. It is being done for the safety of the candidates," he added.

Further, the exam officials may raise queries depending on the observations during the document verifying process. Candidates are advised to check their ID regularly during counselling for any message. The query raised must be replied within the due date.

Those candidates who will not reply within the allotted date, the document verification will be cancelled and the allotted seat will be withdrawn.
