About 72% JEE Main 2020 candidates appeared for the exams in Odisha over these six days that concluded yesterday i.e., September 7, 2020. NTA conducted JEE Main 2020 in seven cities in Odisha- Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Balasore, Berhampur, Rourkela, Dhenkanal, and Sambalpur.

According to reports, about 38,236 students had registered for the exam this year of which 27,457 students had appeared for the exam at 26 centers in Odisha.

According to sources by Skill Development and Technical Education Department, 3,582 candidates out of 4,970 candidates appeared for the exam in Cuttack. Similarly, in Dhenkanal 1,679 candidates out of 2,134 candidates appeared for the exam. 2,488 candidates out of 3.556 candidates appeared in Sambalpur, 3,258 candidates out of 4,525 candidates in Balasore and 2,083 out of 2,585 candidates in Rourkela. 

Bhubaneswar had six centers for which 16,000 candidates had registered. Out of these only 11,170 candidates had appeared for JEE Main 2020. Berhampur city has received 3,237 candidates out of 4,133 registered with NTA.

According to a government official, "Had the state government failed to provide accommodation and transportation to candidates, the percentage of turning up of candidates in examination centers would have decreased further,". 

The state government of Odisha had made free arrangements for transportation and accommodation in the seven cities. Students were staying in 20 institutes. Bhubaneswar had received the highest number of candidates where six institutes were arranged for the students. 

The state is ready for NEET 2020 that is scheduled on September 13, 2020 in seven cities.
