Only 28 MBBS and 21 BDS seats remained in the state after the completion of the second round of medical seats on Saturday. So far, 1,360 MBBS/BDS seats out of 1,409 seats have been allocated to candidates after this round during ongoing medical Counselling. Read full details. 

The Committee of OJEE, which is conducting the medical counselling process, will allocate only 85 percent of medical seats, leaving 15 percent of the national quota. After admission to the national quota, the left-over seats will be handed over to the state.

As of now, after the second round allocation, following seats remain vacant in different medical colleges in Odisha:

Following the second round allocation of MBBS seats, only one seat is left in SCB Medical College and Hospital (MCH) Cuttack, two seats in MKCG MCH Berhampur, three seats in VIMSAR Burla, three seats in PRM MCH Baripada, five seats in SLN MCH Koraput, three seats in Government MCH Balangir, one seat in FM MCH Balasore, four seats in Hi-Tech MCH Bhubaneswar and six seats in Hi-Tech MCH Rourkela.

Similarly, two BDS seats remain at SCB Dental College Cuttack, while 19 seats remain at Hi-Tech Dental College Bhubaneswar.

Odisha has around 1513 seats (1350 MBBS and 163 BDS) in seven governments (along with SCB Dental College) and three private medical colleges. Of these, 1330 are under the state quota and 183 are AIQ seats. After the allocation of AIQ, 79 of these seats returned to the state quota. The available seats under the state quota thus reached 1409 (1248 MBBS and 161 BDS).

After the first round, 276 medical seats were left for admission. After the addition of the AIQ, the total number of vacant seats was 355. Applicants downloaded allotment letters on Saturday after the second round of allotment was published. They can accept the seat by paying the admission fee and downloading a provisional admission letter between 13 December and 15 December.

The tentative date for spot round counselling is December 20. A total of 49 seats (28 MBBS and 21 BDS) remain for this round.
